March 2025 Newsletter
President's Report
As your incoming 2025 CCIM Nebraska Chapter President, I am honored and excited to lead our organization into what promises to be another fantastic year. Sincere thank you to Jim Sanderson, CCIM for his leadership in 2024, and I am excited to see him continue his CCIM involvement as the Region 5 Vice President. The strength of our chapter has always been rooted in our members' dedication to excellence and professional growth, and I look forward to building upon this foundation as we move forward together.
Our vision for 2025 is focused on three key priorities that will enhance the value of your CCIM membership. First, we are committed to expanding our chapter's reach and influence throughout Nebraska. We have a few new members that are taking the CCIM exam at the end of April in Miami. Best of luck to all test takers, we are excited for you to earn your CCIM Designation. Growing our membership not only strengthens our network but also brings fresh perspectives and opportunities to our community. We are also actively seeking additional chapter sponsors to spread CCIM Nebraska to others in the CRE industry that may not be familiar with CCIM. Please reach out with any sponsorship ideas.
Second, please welcome Robert Stefka as our new Chapter Vice-President and Dylan McCabe as SecretaryTreasurer. We are actively seeking passionate individuals to fill several vacant board positions. Your involvement in chapter leadership is crucial to our success, and I encourage you to consider taking on a more active role in shaping our future. We have open roles for various committees. Most roles are low time commitment, and we also appreciate any members stepping up to volunteer at events.
Third, we are elevating our event programming to deliver even more impactful networking and educational opportunities throughout the year. Last year, we hosted two Ward Courses. This year, we are looking into the ability to host a core class (CL101-CL104); and also we have chapter sponsors that have offered to host continuing education classes to help our members fulfill their licensing requirements.
Our signature gatherings have become cornerstone networking opportunities in our commercial real estate community. Our Big Deals Luncheon continues to showcase the most significant transactions in our market and is planned for March 27th at Tiburon Golf Club. The CWS Tailgate partnered with SIOR Nebraska Iowa Chapter will again be one of the most anticipated social events of the year. Don't forget to mark your calendars for our monthly lunch meetups at Cunningham's Pub, held on the last Monday of every month at noon – these casual gatherings are perfect for building relationships and staying connected with fellow CCIM members. Please watch out for additional details on all events.
I look forward to seeing you all at these events and working together to make 2025 an outstanding year for our chapter, please feel free to contact me at anytime.
Sincerely,
Grant Kobes, CCIM
Chapter Sponsor Spotlight

TCN is very thankful to be one of the title sponsors of the Nebraska CCIM Chapter. We’ve done enough deals to know that a deal with a CCIM just goes smoother. Thank you for enhancing the professionalism and collaboration in the commercial real estate space. We love what you do.
Like many of you, TCN has deep roots in the local community, having been founded in Douglas County, Nebraska, in 1886 as Lindley Abstract. Today, TCN offers title and settlement services as well as 1031 exchange services to customers primarily located in Nebraska and Iowa.
In those 138-ish years, we’ve learned a few things.
1. Never take your client’s trust for granted. Our clients trust us with their business and we never take that for granted. We aim to earn it every day, in every deal. When you trust your business to TCN, you can be confident you are in good hands. Our 4 Commercial Escrow Officers boast over 130 years of combined industry experience and have handled transactions as small as a duplex, or as large as a skyscraper (and everything in between). Whether it’s the first-time investor buying their first rental, or the seasoned developer building with incentives, TCN’s got you covered.
2. Relationships matter. People matter.
3. Stuff should make sense. TCN takes a practical approach to title and settlement. We have 4 underwriting relationships that offer us the flexibility to get transactions across the finish line with as little friction as possible. We know the last thing you want are unnecessary hang-ups. We strive to make title and settlement as stress-free as possible so you can focus on what matters most to you: your clients.
It’s been our honor to serve the local community for the last 138-ish years. We are grateful to be part of an industry that makes our community better every day.
We would love to partner with you on your next project. If you ever need anything from us, just holler. We’re a phone call away and we’re always here to help.
